This dim 10.5 magnitude comet is very near M106 in Ursa Major, rising in the late evening. With a good quarter degree of tail seen here, this rather colorless comet is moving at a rapid pace through the galaxies of this part of the sky. The comet is currently 1.47AU from Earth, and 2.06 AU from the sun. The trailed images of the stars are from tracking on the nucleus of the comet during the exposure, not the stars. The sequence of RGBB can be seen in the star trails. This image is slightly cropped from the original frame.
