The Sword of Orion Explore Scientific AR152 Refractor

Uploaded 3/15/12

The six inch f/6.5 refractor was bought specifically for narrow band imaging of the Sun in high resolution, and has served well in this regard. I did try the scope out on the deep sky this week, using the .7x field flattener I use for the Stellarvue astrograph to provide a sharp nearly coma free field. Performance was better than expected, and here is the result with the Canon XTi DSLR, and 15 minutes of exposure time.
