Comet Panstarrs C/2011 L4
Comet in North Eastern sky before sunrise
For Thursday April 11th, 2013

The seemingly perpetual cloud parted for one morning this week, and I was finally after a month of total cloud outs able to get the shot of the comet and M31 in the same image. The top image here gives a wide field view, with the 17mm lens and the second and third images with this lens zoomed in to 70mm to capture Cassiopeia, the comet and M31 spiral galaxy all in one shot. Both the comet and M31 were fairly easy naked eye objects, appearing much like the first image here. The comet is currently around 3.5 magnitude, and moving into Cassiopeia while getting dimmer in the week ahead.
