Comets Lovejoy C/2013 R1
and Panstarrs C/2012 K1 in the morning sky
April 6, 2014

Two comets in the morning sky, neither was visible visually with the 80mm finder. Panstarrs continues to have its unusual curved shape, and now is starting to show some green coloration around the head. The comet is 10.6 magnitude in this half a degree wide field with the 12.5" scope.

Comet Lovejoy is quite dim now, but is still showin a fan tail. Fainter than 11th magnitude, the comet is superimposed on a field of dark nebula in Scutum. This is also with the 12.5" scope.
