Comet Leonard A1
in the morning sky
December 19, 2021

Now at magnitude 3.6, this comet is making a fine showing in the western sky after passing into the evening on December 13th. A brilliant stellar nucleus is seen, and a short rayed tail extensing at least 3 degrees in the bright light of the sunset and full moonlight. You can see the Mazatzal Mountains in the distace have some snow left on them as well.

This lens - A Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Pro Macro is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used, and produces pinpoint stars right into the corners.
