January 12, 2019

This 18.8 magnitude asteroid in Crater is currently demonstrating a dust appendage. The origin of the sudden dust tail appearance is currently being debated, and future studies of this very rare type of object will no doubt answer this question. Here is a short set of exposures with the 10 inch Orion Astrograph and ST10xme CCD for 40 minutes total time.
