Centering the Frame on the 9 foot tall pier. Using a laser level, we squared the frame up, and accurately centered the square frame on the 12 inch diameter concrete pier.

The floor joists main beams installed to form deck. The basic supports for the floor are in place. Additional cross struts were added next to minimize flexure at the plywood joints.

Pier joist details. A 1 inch clearance around the pier was used to ensure the vibration of walking on the floor would not disturb the Schmidt Camera.

The construction crew and the finished Deck! Ready for staining, the floor provides a solid support well above the numerous smaller pine trees nearby. Our work crew for the day are left to right, Kevin, the Author, and Vince.
