Sharpless 2-308, The Dolphin Head Nebula in Canis Major
with 10" f/3.9 Astrograph @ f/2.8
Uploaded 4/24/24

This is a deep shot of Sharpless 2-308 in Canis Major with our 10 inch taken in April this year. Youve probably seen many shots of this object recently, but few if any record the extensive background nebulosity colored both red from Halpha and blue/green from OIII. The goal here then was to portray the dolphin in a subtle teal color in front of a rich rippling wavy background of multi colored nebulosity. If you are shooting the Dolphin, go long to capture this background, otherwise you may be missing out on an incredibly beautiful scene!
