NGC281 in Cassiopiea
with 10" f/3.9 Astrograph
Uploaded 11/86/21

Surrounding the open cluster IC1590, this well known object has so much to show in deep exposures. A dark bar of dust blocks out the central region below the star cluster, and just around the clusters hot stars the UV radiation imparts a magnificent pink coloration to the core of the nebula, fading to deep crimpson reds in the extremities.
