M31 - The Andromeda Galaxy
Stellarvue SV80 f/6 Astrograph
Uploaded 11/19/21

We took this image under superb sky conditions - Seeing was excellent, Bortle 1 darkness rating, and at 7000 feet elevation. This is a 2 hour exposure with the SV80 at about 384mm EFL at f/4.8. It has been years since we installed this instrument at our second high altitude observatory in Happy Jack. And this is the first time we have tried this camera out with this refractor.

Had frosting problems with this camera so had to run at 0C which is about 20 degrees warmer than usual. Despite this, there is good star colors and plenty of galaxy details to be seen.
