Edge on Galaxy in Coma Bernices

This highly structured galaxy is known as the "Whale" by its bloated appearance. The above image was guided with the SBIG ST-4 Autoguider, and was made by combining a one hour exposure with gas hypered 2415 black and white film with two 45 minute exposures on Kodak PJ400 color film in the LAB enviornment in Adobe Photoshop.

Exposure:  LRGB = Luminosity 60 minutes on Hypered 2415, RGB derived from two 45 min exposures on PJ400
