Here we have a special event in the evening sky recorded by Dawn with here venerable Panasonic Lumix and 12x zoom lens. This is the rise of the so called "Super Moon", which occurs when the moon is closest to the earth in its orbit (perigee) at the same day as the full moon. The moon is only slightly larger than normal, but really looks great rising in the east over the granite mountains east of Payson!
