Located just south east of the moons center, this image is dominated by the huge scarp Rupes Altai, a 290 mile long graben like cliff through the center of this image. The 3000 foot cliff face connects to the 53 mile diameter crater Piccolomini on the lower northern edge here, and extends into the spectacular triple crater chain of Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina at its upper right here. The large basin on the upper right is Mare Nectaris with the partially in filled crater Fracastorius on its north edge.
