3D Printing Projects: Design, Printing, Implementation Observatory Hanging Hooks Project Updated 4/12/19

Here youll find another recent 3D printing project just for Astronomical Observation. One of the biggest problems with both of our current observatories is a place to put stuff like cords, cradles, bags, covers, coats and such. These heavy duty hooks were designed to fill that need, and are bright colors in red flashlights for easy visibility. Each hook takes one hour to 3D print. Ive now mounted the gold hooks in our Payson backyard observatory, and the red hooks are planned to be installed up in Happy Jack. Problem solved!

Solid works drawing of the hook. it is about 3 inches tall. The holes are for countersunk #8 dry wall screws.

Here are the gold colored ones that are now in the Payson Birch Mesa Observatory.
